EqcoLogic Sub-system Products: IP over COAX / HDSDI Repeater
EqcoLogic has always provided reference designs to help customers build PCB's that use the company's semiconductor products.
Now, for some special applications and markets, we also provide a limited range of sub-systems products. Customers find these products particularly useful when they need a finished solution but do not necessarily have a need for a large volume of product.
These products are all transceiver applications – transmitting duplex over Coax.

The IP over Coax system comes as two units – one each for camera and recorder sides of the cable. The EQCO FastECoax 7501 solution uses the EQCO875SC chip; it gives up to 170m reach (based on cable quality). using standard coax cable.
The system also supports power transmission over Coax, with full compatibility with the Power Over Ethernet (POE) standard used by most IP camera and recorder vendors.

Repeaters for HDSDI-based HDCCTV systems

Repeaters for HDSDI-based HD CCTV systems; allows long haul, with power and control signals transmitted to camera

The HDSDI repeater system receives HD digital images from a surveillance camera, equalizes and corrects the signal and then transmits it onwards. Each repeater receives/transmits up to 220m (based on cable quality) over 75Ω coax cable.
While transmitting the image data at up to 1.5Gbit/s from the camera, the repeater link also supports the transmission of power over coax and RS485 control signals to the camera.

The CoaXPress machine vision standard uses asymmetric data transmission over Coax cables – with speeds of up to 6.2Gbit/s from the camera and up to 20Mbit/s control data from the frame grabber to the camera.
EqcoLogic offers fully qualified board-sets (transmitter and receiver) as an evaluation and development aid to customers.

1394b Coax adaptor dongles
For long-haul transmission of Firewire (IEEE1394b) over coax cable

With the EQCO875SC (for 75Ω connectors and cables) and the EQCO850SC (for 50Ω connectors and cables), these dongles convert signals and transmit/receive data over low-cost coax in full duplex mode.
The dongles support 1394b signaling up to S800 rates (1Gbit/s); they also support power over coax.
The cable lengths achieved depend on cable quality, but, at S800 rates, up to 60m is typical (compared to maximum 4.5m with conventional 1394 cables)

SFP Module: Gigabit Ethernet over Coax

Designed to provide Coax transmission option for Gigabit Ethernet applications where SFP interface is used particularly switches and routers. Uses the EQCO875SC chip for full duplex bi-directional signaling.
Using Coax allows rotating joints in the data path – particularly useful for industrial and security camera systems.
